Thursday evening forecast April 30th

Thursday we started off our day with fog followed by beautiful sunshine.  Highs climbed well above average in the 70s to low 80s along the coast and high 80s in the valleys.

Wind will be strong Thursday night.  A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Santa Barbara South Coast, Santa Barbara County mountains and Ventura County mountains until 6AM Friday. The strong northerly winds can have gusts exceeding 40 mph.

The first day of May will continue the windy weather trend for a large portion of California as a trough settles over the West Coast. Although the wind won't be as strong on Saturday, it will still be an unsettled day. We can expect stronger wind to return to our area Sunday and next Monday, with weaker breezes and warmer temperatures for our area next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Daytime highs will remain at or above average from today through the first week of May, with the coolest temperatures over the weekend. Highs will range from the 70s along the coast to the 80s in our inland valleys. Overnight lows will also remain well above average due to the wind and a warmer airmass. Lows will range from the upper 40s to the 50s and lower 60s.

The extended forecast keeps us dry and above average.
