SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Oprah Winfrey gave a ten-minute address to University of California, Santa Barbara graduates on Saturday.

"You'll be telling your story to your grandchildren: a story of surviving a global health crisis, of thriving and graduating during a pandemic. You already have in your young lives created a legacy of resilience, not giving up when the challenges kept coming. Making virtual reality, your reality. All the while, learning and growing and now moving into the next chapter of your life."

The event was streamed due to pandemic restrictions.

In San Luis Obispo, Cal Poly had its own commencement. Lloyd Dean served as Cal Poly San Luis Obispo's keynote speaker. Dean is the CEO of Common Spirit Health.

Congrats to all the graduates who missed out on in-person learning, but persevered.
