Warming up Friday

KEYT

Happy Friday! Temperatures begin to warm today as the high pressure in the eastern half of the United States states begins to strengthen and expand. Hot and dry air will sit over Southern California, causing temperatures to rise anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees for our Friday. More sunshine is expected today so make sure to stay hydrated and use sunscreen especially when headed outdoors! Viva Fiesta!

A mini warm up is expected for Saturday. Temperatures inland will soar back up into the triple digits and it’ll remain nice and toasty towards the coast. This mini heat wave is not expected to break any records but it is possible that heat advisories will go into effect for the interior.

Sunday looks to be the hottest day of the week, mainly for the interior areas. Temperatures will be above average for this time in August. Luckily, after Sunday we are tracking another cooldown that will last into the first half of next week.
