SANTA MARIA, Calif. - It's hard to miss the brand new big red sign when driving down Bradley Road in Santa Maria.

"That big Toyota sign out there, you can see it from far away especially when the lights are on," said finance manager Jayson Postrano of Toyota of Santa Maria.

Postrano and his co-workers are getting settled into their brand new State of the art dealership which opened on Sunday.

Toyota of Santa Maria moved about five minutes from its old facilities, which will now be used to sell used cars.

All the development has city leaders pleased.

"We look forward to continued growth, continued revenues and also to provide commercial opportunities for our residents and choices for consumers," said Director of Community Development Chuen Ng with the City of Santa Maria.

Managers with the Toyota dealership said they're not only excited about the opening, they’re also looking forward to bringing new jobs to the community.

"We are hiring for Parts, Services and Sales, so it’s gonna open up a lot of job opportunities for everyone here in town. And our town is definitely growing," said Postrano.

Toyota isn’t the only dealership with new digs.

Right next door, construction for a new Honda dealership is almost complete as Enos Ranch brings car sales to new locations.

City developers said the pandemic has not slowed down construction for local businesses.

And Honda's old facility will bring a brand new car brand to town.

"And we know there will be a new Kia dealership that will backfill the existing Honda facility that they’re at now," said Ng.

Back at Toyota of Santa Maria, everything is now open, sales, service, and parts, with even more from other dealers just down the road.
