Police are looking for stabbing suspect in Port Hueneme

Police are looking for a suspect in a stabbing incident on Wednesday night in Port Hueneme.

The victim described the suspect as being a dark complexed Hispanic male in his 50’s, approximately 5’3 ft., wearing a dark blue baseball hat, dark colored vest with a collar and jean pants.

The incident happened around 8:32 p.m. at 165 North 5th Street in Port Hueneme.

Officers responded to the Harbor Village Apartment complex where they located a 25-year-old female victim at the scene.

They found that she had sustained multiple non-life threatening stab wounds to her arm.

During the investigation, the victim was walking inside of the apartment complex when the suspect approached her and asked her for money.

The victim told the suspect that she did not have any money to give him and walked away.

The suspect ran up to the victim from behind, the victim heard the suspect approaching and turned to face him.

In that moment, he began striking the woman at her face with an unknown item in his possession.

The victim was able to raise her arm to protect her face and as a result was stabbed in the arm numerous times with an unknown item.

She then proceeded to flee on foot and last saw the suspect fleeing the complex on foot towards Hueneme Road.

Fire and paramedic crews responded to the scene and treated the victim for her injuries.

She was later transported to Ventura County Medical Center for further medical treatment.

Officers conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
