Lego Movie World officially opens at Legoland California

CARLSBAD, Calif. - Legoland California’s newest land is now officially open. The Lego Movie World grand opening was Thursday.

The Legoland resort reopened back in April after being closed for 13 months, pushing back the opening of the new land by a full year, but now that the resort is back open guests will be able to explore more than just their favorites they can now check out a whole new land, Lego Movie World.

The Legoland expansion brings the Lego movies to life. Guests are transported to the streets of Bricksburg from the movies where they can meet Emmet and all his friends.

Lego Movie World features six interactive attractions for all to enjoy. Guests can climb and explore Benny’s Playship, ride Queen Watevra’s Carousel, feel the rush from Unikitty’s Disco Drop, or take a ride on Emmet’s Flying Adventure.

“Emmet's flying ride is a thrill ride of a lifetime for guest. They will get to fly on Emmet’s triple decker flying couch and race against his friends in the iconic lands from both blockbuster films. They will be able to smell the smells in Cloud Cuckcoo Land, zoom through Middle Zealand, feel the ocean spray from Pirates Cove, blast off to the Sister System racing his friends. I can't tell you who wins but I invite you out to come check it out,” said Legoland spokesperson Jake Gonzales.

Emmet's Flying Adventure

In addition to the rides guests can create their own legos at Build Watevra You Wa’Na Build zone and enjoy tasty themed treats such as Cloud Cuckoo Crepes, Benny’s Rocket Fuel and Everything is Ramen throughout the land.
