SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - A nurse at French Hospital in San Luis Obispo has created a space of peace and relaxation for her colleagues who might be in need of a breather from the stress of the coronavirus fight.

Stephanie Walczuk, a French Hospital Medical Center Telemetry Unit RN, put the "Serenity Room" together using items from her own home, as well as items donated from the community.

The room is open to French Hospital staff who are in need of "serenity" and provides a temporary reprieve from the work day. The room provides a necessary additional service that is different from services currently being provided by chaplains and social workers.

The serenity room comes just in time for National Nurses Week which takes place through next Tuesday.
