Magnitude 3.2 earthquake recorded south of Cuyama Wednesday morning

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – A magnitude 3.2 earthquake was recorded Wednesday morning southeast of Cuyama.

The image below shows the epicenter of the earthquake as the orange circle which was recorded at 7:51 a.m. local time and about 8.8 kilometers deep shared the U.S. Geological Survey.

The U.S. Geological Survey also shared a rough estimate of how far shaking associated with the earthquake reached in the image below. The lighter the blue lines, the less shaking was likely felt.

The image below shows the location of Wednesday's earthquake relative to major and minor plate boundaries.

The thick red line running along the length of the image is the San Andreas Fault and more information about the transform plate boundary can be found here as well as in the images below.
