Thursday morning forecast – Dec. 26th

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Christmas evening's storm dumped heavy rain across the Central and South Coasts. We're still seeing some remnants from that storm, with scattered showers and the potential for a stray thunderstorm developing today. We'll see the rain mostly clearing out by later today, with no more than a third of an inch of additional rain expected for local areas. High temperatures will reach the mid-50s to around 60 degrees.

Mountain areas in Santa Barbara County are under a Winter Storm Warning tonight with more than a foot of snow possible above 5,000 feet and 4-8 inches possible above 3,500 feet. The Cuyama Valley could also see multiple inches of snow. We could see widespread gusty winds today as well. Gusts up to 50 mph are possible for the Ventura County coast and valleys.

Tomorrow, we'll begin to dry out and see more sunchine with slightly warmer temperatures. This will begin a quiet pattern for the next few days, though temperatures will stay near or slightly below average.

This weekend we'll see partly cloudy skies with a slight chance of rain returning on Monday. We're expecting New Year's Eve and New Year's Day to be dry with highs in the upper-50s to low-60s.
