Three arrested in connection to 2022 homicide

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Santa Maria Police Department (SMPD) Detective Bureau alongside the SMPD SWAT team, served a warrant Friday morning leading to an arrest in connection to an ongoing homicide investigation of the 2022 shooting death of Adelberto Moises Gabino.
During the search and arrest warrant executed Friday morning around 1 a.m., a 19-year-old Santa Maria resident was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on two warrants that included felony vandalism, gang member in possession of a firearm, murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and a gang enhancement.
During the search of the residence in the 300 block of W. Sheila Lane, SMPD Detectives discovered information that led to arrest warrants issued for two additional suspects in the homicide investigation detail SMPD.
According to SMPD, those two additional suspects in this homicide investigation are both 19-year-old Santa Maria residents already in custody at Santa Barbara County Jail for other crimes and have been re-booked on charges including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and a gang enhancement.
All three suspects are being held on $2 million bail relay SMPD.
