San Luis Obispo County installs tsunami hazard signs along at-risk coastline

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. – New tsunami zone warning signs are being installed in unincorporated areas along the San Luis Obispo County shoreline over the next several months.

These new signs are part of a TsunamiReady certification through the National Weather Service.

Communities with this designation receive credit points that can impact the cost of flood insurance in the area.

These signs will inform readers that they are in a tsunami inundation zone and should seek higher ground in the event of an earthquake.
