GOLETA, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara has extended its campus closure through the end of July due to the coronavirus crisis and state orders.

Chancellor Henry Yang has released a letter to students, faculty and staff saying the first summer school session will be online.

The second session is still to be determined based on decisions about the Governor's "Stay Well at Home" order.

Remote instruction is underway now for the current quarter.

Graduation in June will not be in person, and a virtual process is in the works.

Many students have moved out of their dorms or apartments in nearby Isla Vista, but a small population remains.

Some limited campus operations and essential services are staffed daily.

UCSB says questions can be directed via email to info@summer.ucsb.edu.
