OXNARD, Calif. - A 60-year-old Oxnard man was arrested after police learned he had developed an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old girl.

David Perez was arrested Monday morning on Pleasant Valley School District property. Perez is employed with the school district as a bus driver.

Perez was arrested after a Camarillo police deputy received information that Perez had "taken steps to develop an inappropriate romantic relationship" with a 15-year-old girl.

Police say the girl is not a student in the Pleasant Valley School District and there is currently no evidence that Perez had victimized any children he met through his job.

Perez was booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility on a $20,000 bail. He is set to appear in court on Wednesday.

Police are asking anyone with information that links Perez to any inappropriate behavior with minors to contact Detective Sergeant Ryan Clark at 805-384-4721.
