Bill Bertka, Westmont coaches react to death of Kobe Bryant
SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- Kobe Bryant spent parts of several summers in Santa Barbara as he hosted his basketball camp at UCSB.
He also attended a luncheon to help raise money for the Santa Barbara Boys and Girls Club plus the Lakers held an occasional training camp in town.
Santa Barbara resident and longtime Lakers coach/consultant/scout Bill Bertka was shocked just like all of us at the death of Kobe Bryant.
Westmont College men's basketball head coach John Moore enjoyed seeing Kobe show so much love toward all four of his daughters including 13-year old Gianna who also died in the helicopter crash that killed Kobe as well as seven others.
Kirsten Moore, Westmont women's head basketball coach, appreciated Kobe being such an advocate for women's hoops.
