SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) – The demand for information and services for seniors is at one of its highest levels with so many seniors living longer.

It was apparent at the Family Service Agency (FSA) annual Senior Expo at the Earl Warren Showgrounds.

An estimated 1,000 people were expected at the event between those attending and the 140 vendors and their staff members.

At the entrance, there was live music and volunteers greeting people with complimentary bags for their brochures and materials from each booth.

The event had a variety of groups and businesses. They include services for health care, finances, advanced planning, food subsidies, personal safety and an entire room was dedicated to check ups. Blood pressure, fall risk screening, eye tests, hearing screenings, and diabetes testing/counseling were available.

Many people were there to get their CVS flu shot.

The Senior Expo of Santa Barbara by Family Service Agency required a small $5.00 admission for the three-hour event.

There were also free haircuts and some of the students doing the cuts were from the Lou Ross Academy in Ventura.
