Rain and thunderstorm chances into Thursday
Remnants of Tropical Storm Eugene will impact the region on Wednesday and Thursday. The marine layer was stubborn on Wednesday, with the cloud cover set to linger into Thursday as well. There is increased moisture as a result of Eugene, along with the chance of rain showers.
By late Wednesday into most of Thursday, light rain and thunderstorm activity is possible as Tropical Storm Eugene has made its way northwest from Baja. Most of the rain will be reserved for Southern California, but will trickle into the South Coast and Ventura County too. The projected rainfall totals are very low at this time based on the computer models, but that is subject to change into Thursday. The main impact for the entire region will be the mugginess from the increased amount of moisture and humidity in the air.
High temperatures on Thursday remain cool to mild for coastal areas, with highs primarily in the 60s and 70s. Inland areas are cooling down to the upper 70s and low 80s for Thursday. Temperatures will rebound next week, with warmer weather in the forecast for inland areas.
By Friday and into the weekend, the remnants of Eugene will clear out and dry conditions will prevail into the weekend. Temperatures remain below seasonal average through the rest of the week, but will begin to trend warmer just in time for the weekend and into next week.
