Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office asks for public assistance investigating flag thefts

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

LOS OLIVOS, Calif. – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in investigating a series of flag thefts in Los Olivos.

The Sheriff's Office details that while investigating a report of a pride flag stolen on Thursday in the 2800 block of Grand Avenue in Los Olivos, deputies learned that a neighboring business also had their pride flag stolen and that a third business, located on the 2400 block of Alamo Pintado, had a Hawaiian state flag stolen.

According to Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, the thefts all appear to have occurred after business hours on Wednesday, Jun. 21 and before opening on Thursday, Jun. 22.

After attempting to collect physical evidence, canvassing the area, and seeking surveillance camera footage, deputies are reaching out to ask the public for assistance in identifying any parties involved.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Solvang Sheriff's Substation at 805-686-5000. If you would like to remain anonymous, you can contact the tipline at 805-681-4171 or online at SBSheriff.org.
