High school students rally to end police brutality

Santa Barbara High School students are standing up against what they call police brutality.

A high school senior named Sage Gaspar organized the peaceful rally.

The students met at De la Guerra Plaza. They were all dressed in black carrying home-made posters. The students say they’re standing against brutality and supporting people who have been killed.

“I feel like this is an issue that needs to be addressed. I think this community has a lot of resources that we can provide communities that impacted by police brutality that we can provide to them and this is a way to spark that conversation,” said Sage Gaspar.

The rally began in Downtown Santa Barbara and ended by the waterfront on Cabrillo Boulevard.
