Sweltering St. Patricks Day, tracking a cooler weekend

High pressure parks over southern California on St. Patrick's Day bringing a sweltering dome of heat with it. Expect another 5+ degree temperature jump from yesterday and most areas close to 90s, if not above. Daily records will easily be broken for many cities. Hydrate and practice heat safety. We cool into the 50s and 60s tonight. Skies will hold mostly clear and winds remain light.

The heat holds Wednesday and Thursday. These are two peak heating days and likely back to back 90 degree days in most areas. Utilize air conditioning when possible and check on those at risk. Minimal marine layer influence means we heat fast, look for mid 80s bvy lunch time. Plan your outdoor excursions accordingly.

We ease slightly Friday and the bigger cooling trend occurs this weekend. While may areas drop 10+ degrees the forecast still calls for low 80s and upper 70s. This will be a welcome cooling rend and more marine layer cloud influence is likely. More information to come.
