Gill and Rinaldi honored at Athlete of the Week by SBART
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A record-breaking performance and a big upset highlighted the Athlete of the Week selections at the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table weekly luncheon.
The Male Athlete of the Week goes to Carpinteria High School speedster Vincent Rinaldi.
He broke the school's record in the 100 and 200 meters to help the Warriors win the Russell Cup for the first time in twenty years.
His record-setting time in the 100m was 10.87 seconds and he went 21.87 in the 200m.
The Female Athlete of the Week was awarded to San Marcos High School sophomore tennis player Natasha Gill.
She upset #1 seed Sophia Ostovany to win the Channel League singles title.
