Sheriff’s Detectives Turn to the Public to Locate Multiple Alleged Cannabis Burglars

CARPINTERIA, Calif. (KEYT) – Detectives have identified a total of 19 people connected to two burglaries earlier this year that targeted a cannabis farm on Foothill Road after a months-long investigation.

The burglaries on January 17 and February 4 of this year resulted in approximately 2,000 pounds of cannabis being taken from the same cannabis farm in the 4000 block of Foothill Road, valued at over $500,000 noted the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office in a press release Monday.

On Monday, July 27, felony arrest warrants with $20,000 bail were issued for the involved adult suspects on charges of burglary, grand theft, and conspiracy detailed the local law enforcement agency.

The two juvenile suspects have been referred to Santa Barbara County Juvenile Court added the Sheriff's Office.

Detectives were able to identify the suspects despite them fleeing the scene prior to the arrival of deputies and the use of masks during the burglary and one of the identified suspects was murdered on February 16, 2026, shared the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.

During the burglary in February, suspects fled in multiple vehicles which lead to two separate traffic collisions in Carpinteria and the arrest of an adult man and two male juveniles detailed the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.

There are still outstanding suspects and the Sheriff's Office is turning to the public for help locating them.
