SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - An eye catching idea from a start up clothing designer in Santa Barbara is catching on, and his street outreach is expanding.

Alexis Flores began selling on a folding table outside of night clubs on the State Street promenade.

The coldest nights might have been tough for someone standing outside but he also said it brought customers to the table looking for something warm to wear.

The demand grew, and the daytime opportunity came up.

He is now part if the vendors at the entrance to the Paseo Nuevo Mall where people from all over come by every week.

One of the most popular patterns has two criss-crossed arrows and the letters S B C A positioned around them.

Flores said, "I never thought in my dream's to be able to have this around the world. I have it as close as Oxnard,  Ventura to having it in Saudia Arabia ya know it's crazy. I never thought it would leave my city and now it's world wide ."

There are multiple new Santa Barbara designs on t-shirts, hoodies and hats.

What started as a hobby is now a full time job.

He holds back some of his products or sample runs for those in the street who have no clean or cold weather clothing, and makes a donation.

Some of the products are also on the racks nearby in the City Hats sports apparel store inside the Paseo Nuevo.

This month buyers have been particularly interested in Flores' products for holiday gifts.
