Sunny skies & warm temperatures Friday

Beautiful sunny skies are expected Friday morning near the southern portion of Santa Barbara County. Since the marine layer influence is minimal today, temperatures will warm up nicely into the 70s and 80s near the coast and triple digits inland. Another heat advisory has been issued for interior areas and valleys until 8PM. Reported wind gusts last night were 45MPH near the Gaviota Coast and similar sundowner winds are expected tonight. Another wind advisory goes into effect from 6PM until 3AM Saturday.

Sunny skies continue into Saturday. Temperatures will only change by a degree or two as the hot and dry air continue to sit on top of the region. It is possible that another wind advisory will need to be issued for yet another sundowner event overnight.

A few degrees of cooling can be expected for our Sunday as onshore flow begins to strengthen. Other than the slight cooldown and stronger sea breeze we can expect another summer-like day with sunny skies and temperatures right near average. Monday into the first half of the workweek will be noticeably cooler due to a deep marine layer and stronger onshore winds. We may actually be a few degrees cooler than average. Enjoy the cooldown while you can because more heat arrives shortly after!
