Surfrider Foundation volunteers and GT’s Synergy Kombucha team up on a pre-Fiesta beach clean up

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – With thousands coming to the Santa Barbara waterfront next week for Old Spanish Days, a big effort has taken place to spruce the area up.

The Santa Barbara Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation and GT's Synergy Kombucha spent their morning on the Santa Barbara beach along Cabrillo Boulevard picking up liter and various forms of trash.

For the most part the beach was clean, but the group of volunteers were able to get a few bags of discarded items, bottle, cans and other forms of plastic.

GT's Kombucha was in Santa Barbara for a corporate event and there was a collaboration with Surfrider to make this happen.

Surfirder says it regularly takes part in cleanup efforts and many environmental programs for beach cleanliness and water quality efforts.
