One dead following shooting in Lompoc

LOMPOC, Calif. - Lompoc police are investigating reports of a shooting that left one man dead Thursday evening.

Officers responded to the 600 block of West Maple Avenue near North N Street around 5:35 p.m.

Upon arriving, police said they found a 28-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in his vehicle. He was transported to Lompoc Valley Medical Center where he died from his wounds.

Detectives responded and began conducting interviews and collecting evidence.

The suspects in this shooting are still at large. Officers said a vehicle believed to belong to one of the suspects was seen leaving the scene.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has surveillance video of the area around the scene is asked to contact the Lompoc Police Department.
