California Highway Patrol Investigating Fatal Crash on State Route 34
The California Highway Patrol in Ventura are investigating a fatal head-on traffic collision that occurred Wednesday afternoon.
It happened on eastbound state Route 34 west of Wood Road just after 3 p.m. Investigators say a man driving a Honda Civic crossed into the westbound lane of Highway 34 directly into the path of a Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling westbound. The Honda and Chevrolet both suffered major damages.
The driver of the Honda was taken to Ventura County Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. His name has not been released. The 69-year-old driver of the Chevy did not sustain any injuries.
