SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Pioneer Park's brand-new inclusive playground is now open, becoming the second of its kind in the City of Santa Maria.

This playground welcomes all participants, regardless of their physical abilities, including those with visual, mobile, and hearing impairments.

The PlayCore equipment is remarkable and features a range of specialized equipment.

From three slides, to musical instruments, and climbing, balancing and spinning equipment, there is something for everyone.

Located at the southern border of the city on 1150 West Foster Road, Pioneer Park is a gem.

In addition to the inclusive playground, visitors can enjoy a large barbecue and picnic area, grassy fields with shade from native oaks, horseshoe pits, and more.

With a capacity of 900 people and all the elements for recreation, Pioneer Park has quickly become a popular space for events.

This project furthers the City of Santa Maria’s Smart City, Safe City vision to help improve the community’s quality of life.

The City installed its first inclusive playground in June 2020 at Preisker Park.
