Warming this Wednesday

Expect to see a degree or two of warming this Wednesday as the high pressure system to the Southwest shifts and expands. Fog was quicker to develop this morning due to calm winds and increased moisture, clouds will stick around until mid-morning then more sunshine is on the way. There is the slight possibility for some light showers to develop North of Point Conception depending on available moisture and instability in the atmosphere.

The heat is back on Thursday! A potent heat ridge builds in from the East Thursday into Friday, meaning temperatures will be noticeably warmer. Highs for the day will be into the middle 70s and 80s near the coast and into the triple digits for interior areas. As far as clouds, expect a foggy morning then sunshine by lunch.

Friday into the weekend will be nice and toasty for the region. That high pressure continues to shift around, keeping temperatures above average. Friday and Saturday look to be the warmest days, but not much change is expected from the day to day temperatures through the weekend. Long range models show that the heat sticks around through the end of the month.
