Christian Hillairet arrested in connection with murder of Carolyn Nino De Rivera
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. – Christian Hillairet has been arrested after fleeing the country in connection with the murder of 26-year-old Carolyn Nino De Rivera of Ojai.
On May 31, around 9:09 p.m., dispatchers received multiple reports about a woman who had been murdered at a home in the 12000 block of Sisar Road in the unincorporated area around Santa Paula stated a press release Monday from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies arrived at the scene, collected evidence, and confirmed that 26-year-old Carolyn Nino-DeRivera was the victim of a homicide detailed the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators from the Ventura County Sheriff's Major Crimes Bureau took over the investigation and learned that the suspect, Christian Hillairet of Santa Paula, had crossed into Mexico at the San Ysidro border crossing on the morning of June 1 the Ventura County Sheriff's Office detailed.
Multiple federal agencies collaborated to locate and arrest Hillairet in Rosarito, Mexico on June 2, and Mexican authorities released the 24-year-old into the custody of U.S. Marshals on June 4 explained the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
On June 5, Hillairet was transported to the Ventura County Jail where he was booked for the murder of Carolyn Nino De Rivera shared the Ventura County Sheriff's Office in a press release Thursday.
