Rain in the forecast, Monday Oct 19th forecast

Despite seeing another sun splashed warm day, a lack of a strong offshore wind allowed for much needed cooling. Winds are basically neutral with just a very light onshore flow. Look for mostly clear skies overnight with some patchy fog possible along the immediate coast. Overnight lows will be mostly in the 60's and upper 50's. But, lingering light offshore breezes could keep some areas closer to 70 degrees all night long.

Looking ahead, further cooling is expected as we head in to next week. Look for mostly mild conditions with light onshore winds and some patchy coastal fog.  An early season storm system will approach the region by mid week and our forecast computer models are pretty bullish on some much needed rainfall reaching our region.  It is never easy for our computers to deal with early season storms and we expect some twists and modifications to the forecast before mid week, but plan for showers region wide. We could even see some moderate to heavy precipitation for some areas Wednesday afternoon and in to early evening. Most areas will likely receive between a quarter to half an inch of rain with heavier accumulations possible. Again, changes with regard to trajectory and expected intensity will need to be ironed out as we head through Monday and Tuesday. Some lingering moisture is expected for early Thursday before high pressure starts to rebuild. This will bring drier weather and a slight boost in temperatures as an offshore flow develops just in time for next weekend.
