Marine layer returns, temperatures remain below average

Temperatures remain cool to mild for the time being, with below average conditions on deck into the weekend. As a weak low pressure systems moves over the Pacific Northwest and Northern California, a deep and low-lying marine layer will develop for coastal areas. The dense marine layer will likely produce a patchy drizzle Wednesday morning and will be stubborn to clear along some beaches. For the South Coast and Ventura County, the marine layer may stick around for most of the day Wednesday because of strong onshore flow.

Daytime temperatures will trend cooler. 60s are on tap yet again for coastal areas Wednesday, but will cool further to the 70s for inland communities. Winds will be calmer on Tuesday, but will pick up by Wednesday afternoon.

An upper low will drop toward California from Canada by the end of the week, bringing a non-zero chance of light rain from Thursday into Saturday.
