Winds likely to whip through South and Central Coasts again Friday

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - We are expecting a windy day on Friday up and down the coast. The South Coast has a Wind Advisory until midnight tonight while the Central and Ventura Coasts have an advisory from noon to 9 p.m. Gusts up to 50 mph are possible with sustained winds stronger than 20 mph likely across our area. Temperatures will stay on the cool side, topping out in the low to mid-60s in most local cities.

On Saturday we'll see another cool, windy day, with peak winds in the afternoon and evening looking a bit weaker than Friday's projections. A low pressure trough will keep our weather pattern cool and unstable. Mountain areas could see a pop-up shower or thunderstorm over the next couple of days.

On Sunday the trough finally moves to the east, bringing us more sunshine and calmer winds. Temperatures will warm noticeably starting on Monday.
