Wednesday evening forecast May 6th

Hot and windy conditions are in the forecast through Thursday. This heat wave is currently in its peak Wednesday and Thursday as temperatures skyrocket more than 20 degrees above average in most locations.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Santa Barbara south coast and mountains until 3AM Thursday. Gusty northerly winds will peak tonight.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for our coastal cities and some valleys as temperatures are expected to be in the mid 80s to 90s. Hot temperatures could linger well into the evening and some areas may not drop below 70 degrees overnight.

These hot temperatures will continue as strong high pressure builds over the region with light offshore flow. Gusty northerly winds will continue through Thursday morning for southern Santa Barbara County.

Much cooler conditions with night through morning low clouds and fog are expected for the weekend and into early next week. Bringing temperatures back into the low to mid 70s for Mother's Day.
