Tuesday evening forecast

Santa Barbara, Calif. - Tuesday began chilly with some high, thin clouds, but the clouds are thickening, the wind is strengthening and the air is cooling as a storm approaches the California coast. We can expect plenty of clouds tonight with a chance for light rain showers mainly before sunrise as a cold front slides over the region. Lows will range from the upper 30s to the 40s.

After our chance for some rain showers, gusty wind and a cooling of our air early Wednesday, we can expect fewer clouds late Wednesday through early Friday with a small ridge of high pressure over California. Clouds will increase late Friday and Saturday, and everyone will have a better chance for more rain Sunday through Tuesday will cooler than average highs.

Overnight lows will be seasonably cool to chilly through Saturday before warming modestly as more clouds arrive. Valleys: 30s warming to the 40s. Coasts: mainly 40s with a few 50s next week. Daytime highs will be a few degrees above average on Thursday and Friday, but will cool below average after that. Highs for all of us will range from the upper 50s to the upper 60s.
