Monday evening forecast – April 13th

A marine layer brought several clouds and cool temperatures for Monday. With a big change in our weather pattern ahead for the Central and South Coasts. Winds will pick up and temperatures will warm. This activity is due to a strong Santa Ana wind event for the earlier part of the work week. Stronger winds will allow temperatures to be the warmest for Tuesday and Wednesday. As a weak system is expected for Friday this will be bringing cooler temperatures, an increase in cloud coverage and a chance for light rain showers.

A dry and warm weather pattern will begin for Tuesday. Winds will likely be the strongest for Tuesday morning. Strong gusts are expected for Ventura County along the valleys and mountains. Gusts 35-40 mph will be possible along valleys especially near wind prone passes and canyons. Mountains and foothills could exceed gusts up to 45 mph. Due to this activity advisory levels will be possible. Temperatures will also warm significantly with many coasts and valleys rising an additional 8-15 degrees from Monday. Giving us highs in the afternoon in the 70s on Tuesday.

Winds will weaken slightly for Wednesday but still remain strong. Some areas will warm a couple degrees with daytime highs along the coasts and valleys in the mid to upper 70s. The region will have clear conditions with plenty of sunshine through Thursday.

As the ridge of high pressure breaks for Friday an increase in cloud coverage will develop with much cooler temperatures. This will bring a slight chance of showers otherwise mainly cloudy skies. The dry weather pattern will return for Saturday with mild conditions.
