Neil Liam Reb Convicted for 2025 Collision That Killed An Elderly Newbury Park Couple

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – Neil Liam Reb of Oak Park pled guilty to two counts of felony gross vehicular manslaughter in connection with a 2025 crash that killed Alejandro and Maria Ramirez.

On May 6, 2025, around 4 p.m., Reb was driving a 2024 Jeep Wrangler when he collided with a Volkswagon Tiguan at the intersection of Via Las Brisas and Calle Del Prado in Newbury Park stated the Ventura County District Attorney's Office in a press release Monday.

The crash resulted in the deaths of 77-year-old Alejandro Ramirez and 73-year-old Maria Ramirez.

Investigators discovered that Reb was driving recklessly before the fatal collision including traveling at almost twice the posted speed limit of 45 miles per hour detailed local prosecutors.

On June 30, 2025, Reb was arrested after an investigation of the incident by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office noted the Ventura County District Attorney's Office.

Reb is currently scheduled for a sentencing hearing on Oct. 9 of this year and remains out of custody on a $50,000 bail shared the local prosecutor's office.

"Mr. and Mrs. Ramirez lost their lives because of a reckless decision to drive at an extremely dangerous speed, and their family will have to live with that loss forever," stated Supervising Senior Deputy District Attorney Blake Heller. "This guilty plea holds Mr. Reb accountable for his actions and the tragic consequences they caused."
