Three Arrested for Weapons and Narcotics-Related Violations after Months-long Investigation into Earlier Firearms Burglary
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – Three Newbury Park residents have been arrested in connection with illegal firearms activities and narcotics-related violations after stolen firearms led to a months-long investigation by county-wide authorities.
In May of this year, patrol deputies responded to a burglary in the 2900 block of Teresa Drive and an investigation revealed that a Thousand Oaks man has stolen multiple firearms from a 49-year-old Newbury Park resident stated a press release Monday from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies arrested the Thousand Oaks man and recovered a privately-made firearm that qualified as an assault weapon among the stolen firearms and the Sheriff's Gun Violence Reduction Program took over an investigation into the weapon noted the local sheriff's office.
According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, detectives served a search warrant at the Newbury Park home involved in the earlier burglary on May 28, 2026, where they recovered 14 firearms, several thousand rounds of ammunition, about 50 high-capacity magazines, and an unspecified amount of ecstasy.
Many of the firearms were unregistered and one of the recovered firearms qualified as an assault weapon added the county-wide law enforcement agency.
The 49-year-old Newbury Park woman was arrested for multiple firearms and narcotics violations and her case has been submitted to local prosecutors for filing consideration shared the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
During the search of the home in late May, detectives also located an unregistered Glock, ammunition, cocaine, and high-capacity magazines in a tenant's room who was later identified as a 30-year-old Newbury Park resident explained the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
On June 12, the 30-year-old was located and arrested for several firearms and narcotics violations and the District Attorney's Office has filed charges for those violations as well a charge of driving with a suspended license, driving under the influence, and possession of a controlled substance.
The 30-year-old is currently scheduled to be arraigned on both cases this month court records show.
Detectives continued their investigation and identified a close associate of the 30-year-old and evidence uncovered during the investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at the associates residence detailed the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
On July 15, the search was conducted at the associate's home, resulting in the discovery of nine firearms -including two unregistered handguns and one that qualified as an assault weapon-, several thousand rounds of ammunition, and multiple high-capacity magazines shared the local sheriff's office.
The associate, identified as a 30-year-old Newbury Park man, was booked at the East Valley Jail on charges of possession of an assault weapon, unlawful transfer of a firearm, possession of a large capacity magazine, and being an addict in possession of a firearm and his case is awaiting a filing decision by the local prosecutor's office explained the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
