Local JC Football: Ventura too strong for SBCC; Hancock cruises past Long Beach

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) -

Ventura 76, Santa Barbara 25: Braden Graham threw 4 first half touchdown passes as the Pirates (3-2, 1-1) built up a 42-13 halftime lead. Graham finished with 5 touchdown passes and completed 20 of his 25 attempts for 351 yards. Jeysen Williams caught two touchdowns including a 57-yarder in the first quarter to give Ventura a 21-0 lead.

Ventura totaled 464 yards rushing with Amir McDowell gaining 180 yards with two touchdowns on just 9 carries.

SBCC (0-5, 0-2) scored their first touchdown on an Eli Gebbie 65-yard pick-six in the final seconds of the first quarter.

Hancock 38, Long Beach 21: Trevin Young rushed for 148 yards with two touchdowns while Max Perrett threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs (3-2, 2-0). The big highlight was an 82-yard touchdown pass from Perrett to Aidan Good that gave Hancock a 28-0 lead early in the fourth quarter.
