Scooter rider dead after crash in Oxnard

OXNARD, Calif. (KEYT) – A scooter rider died after a crash and subsequent fall at the 2700 block of Rohdea Drive just before 6:00 p.m. Friday, according to the Oxnard Police Department.

OPD officers saw the 57-year-old woman lying on the walkway with the electric scooter just feet away from her.

Paramedics later declared the woman dead at the scene and determined unknown reasons why the fall and potential life-ending injuries occurred, according to the OPD.

The investigation remains ongoing and those with more information are asked to contact the OPD at this number.
