One man has died after rollover crash on Highway 101 near Los Alamos

LOS ALAMOS, Calif. – One man has died and another was transported to a local hospital following a vehicle rollover on Highway 101 near Los Alamos Wednesday morning.

Just after 9:30 a.m, first responders were called to a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 101 just north of Palmer Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol traffic incident information website, a white van traveling northbound crossed into the southbound lanes and crashed into a metal railing located just off the shoulder of the highway.

A Santa Barbara County Fire Department battalion chief on scene said there were two people in the van at the time of the rollover crash.

One person in the van was killed, while the other sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol
