City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – A new large-scale painted mural depicting the past, present, and future of Santa Maria now graces the wall of the former Library at the City Civic Center facing Broadway/Highway 135.

The 16-foot high and 32-foot long mural was painted by local teens on 16 separate 4X8-foot panels under the direction of Kym Cochran and Jonathan Smith with The Environment Makers, Inc. and coordinated by the City's Recreation and Parks Department.

The mural is part of the City's public arts program and its Smart City, Safe City vision intended to enrich the community's quality of life.
