Police arrested the 24-year-old Santa Maria man on Dec. 15 following an extensive chase involving an armed carjacking, burglary and an officer-involved shooting.
The 24-year-old showed what appeared to be a realistic firearm before the officer-involved shooting occurred, but the investigation later revealed it was a BB gun.
