Santa Barbara Man Arrested In Connection with Knife Attack Wednesday Morning

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) – A 40-year-old Santa Barbara man is in custody after a knife attack near the intersection of Chapala Street and Carrillo Street Wednesday morning.

Santa Barbara Police noted that the incident appears to have been isolated and they do not believe there is any outstanding threat to public safety at this point in their investigation.

On July 15, around 7:55 a.m., officers received a report about an adult man with a laceration to his hand at City Fire Station 1 on Carrillo Street stated the Santa Barbara Police Department.

According to the injured man, an acquaintance, later identified as a 40-year-old Santa Barbara man, had slashed him with a knife near the intersection of Chapala Street and Carrillo Street shared the local police agency.

The injured man was transported by ambulance to Cottage Hospital for further medical treatment added the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Officers located the 40-year-old in the 200 block of West Anapamu Street and he was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on a no-bail warrant explained the Santa Barbara Police Department.
