Carpinteria Grower Rodney Chow Remembered by Farmers and Friends
CARPINTERIA, Calif. – Farmers and friends are mourning the loss of longtime Carpinteria grower and community member Rodney Chow, who died Tuesday at the age of 95.
In addition to selling fruit at farmers markets in Carpinteria and Santa Barbara, Chow authored several books about his life and what he called being "as American as apple pie."
He was also a successful real estate agent in Ventura County.
Chow was known for cooking for friends on special occasions and sharing stories about his late wife and family.
The farmers market will set up a memorial booth for Chow at Saturday’s market in Santa Barbara on March 29.
