National Burrito Day celebrated on the coast

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The first Thursday of April marks National Burrito Day.

As we know, burritos come in different shapes and sizes depending on what the person is craving.

Some interesting facts about the burrito is the Mexican dish originated from Chihuahua, Mexico.

The word "burrito" in english translate to little donkey.

And two possibilities on how the burrito got its name is that many have said it resembles a donkey's ear.

The other possibility is that donkeys carry blanket-wrapped packages on their back and that also resembles the shape of a burrito.

There are different places throughout the Central Coast that offer burritos from Super Cucas, Taqueria Rincon Alteno, Lito's Mexican Food, On the Alley, Rudy's Mexican Restaurant and more.
