OXNARD, Calif. (KEYT) – A local surf shop has an honest customer to thank.

Anacapa Surf N Sport in Oxnard Shores shared a story on social media about a customer who was undercharged.

The customer named Aric is an L.A. firefighter and dad, who came back to the store to say he owed Anacapa Surf more money.

"We had undercharged him $100 and the next day – he bought one of these rash guards – and the next day he came in and said 'hey, you guys undercharged me $100 so I came to pay it,'" said Anacapa Surf owner Laurie Weiner. "I was like 'oh my gosh' that is so honest."

Due to the heat wave many surfers are wearing rash guards instead of wetsuits.

They protect skin from sun and abrasions.

Weiner owns the shop with her husband Robert of Roberts Surfboards.

The well known shaper recently won his age group at the C Street Classic and works in the shop on Saturdays.

Customers often stop by to see him.
