Carpinteria man identified as cyclist struck and killed Tuesday morning on Rincon Road

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office identified the man killed following a vehicle and bicycle collision Tuesday as 80-year-old Steven Kingsley Close of Carpinteria.

The Tuesday morning collision closed down portions of Rincon Road for an investigation and the driver involved remained on the scene detail Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Bureau's last update on the incident was that the identification was pending notification of the deceased's next of kin.
