Erik Davis crowned King of 2023 Summer Solstice Celebration

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The 2023 Summer Solstice Celebration announced its official King on Thursday, TV Santa Barbara's Executive Director Erik Davis.

His lordship will ride on a custom throne in the 49th annual Solstice Parade which will start at noon on Saturday, Jun. 24 at the intersection of Ortega and Santa Barbara Streets.

The Parade will then travel along Santa Barbara Street ending at the Solstice Festival at Alameda Park.

"It is a great honor to be selected as the official King of Summer Solstice,” said Davis, Executive Director of TV Santa Barbara since 2017 and also former El Presidente of Old Spanish Days Fiesta in 2020. “I can’t wait to participate in the parade and share in the joy that is this wonderful community festival!”

TV Santa Barbara will have a Video Story Booth during Summer Solstice activities at Alameda Park on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The full Summer Solstice Festival will take place Friday to Sunday with the theme of "Roots".
