Bomb squad investigates backpack left at Santa Barbara sheriff headquarters
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office investigated a bag that was left near the sheriff's headquarters near Santa Barbara Monday morning.
At around 10:30 a.m., the sheriff's bomb squad began investigating an abandoned backpack at the sheriff's headquarters, which is located on the 4400 block of Calle Real.
Bomb Squad responded to Sheriff’s Headquarters for a suspicious bag at around 10:30 today. No evacuations were necessary. The abandoned backpack was safely opened and found to be personal items. Scene was cleared by 12:30 and normal operations resumed. pic.twitter.com/DKrsSNy8sm

According to Raquel Zick, public information officer for the sheriff's office, the bag was safely opened and was found to be full of personal items.
The scene was cleared after the bag was opened and normal operations began at the sheriff's headquarters around 12:30 p.m.
This is the second suspicious bag the sheriff's bomb squad has investigated in the last week. On Thursday, the bomb squad responded to a bag left on the Santa Barbara Courthouse lawn. That bag was also found to be filled with personal items and was not a threat to the community.
