Los Arroyos celebrates 23 years in downtown Santa Barbara with weekend specials
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Los Arroyos restaurant in downtown Santa Barbara is celebrating 23 years in downtown with weekend specials and a price cut on popular menu items.
Owner Tony Arroyo recalls his dream to open a restaurant when he was a behind the scenes worker. In 1999 he was able to open his Figueroa Street location and it's where the celebration is taking place for three days.
Arroyo says he and his employees enjoy seeing regular customers and many are on a first name basis.
The Los Arroyos restaurant popularity is well established. There are three restaurants in Goleta and Santa Barbara and one in Indianapolis.
Arroyo said, "23 years ago my dream was to have my own restaurant. I dream it. I save it. I did it. What's in my heart?  I love the restaurant business. You have to love it to be in this business. I love to be a restaurant entrepreneur.  I love my customers and I love my community . That's what made me what I am right now."
The weekend deals feature three $10. meals with a fountain drink. Maria's Chicken Enchiladas, Chicken Tostada Ranchera, and Chicken Burrito Mojado. Michelada's and wine margarita's are $6.
